How much fibre a day? Build it into familiar meals
WHO fibre guidance, practical meal ideas and a clear distinction between a food portion and grams of fibre.

A general fibre reference
WHO recommends at least 25 g of naturally occurring dietary fibre daily for people older than ten. Food sources include whole grains, vegetables, fruit and pulses. This is general guidance, not an individual prescription. Follow professional instructions if treatment requires a fibre-restricted diet. [1]
Grams of fibre are not grams of vegetables
Food weight and fibre content are different quantities. Find the fibre line and its serving unit. In a hypothetical example, 50 g of a product containing 6 g fibre per 100 g supplies 3 g fibre. This is a label-reading exercise, not a measured value for an Eat Better dish.
Find opportunities across the day
Try oats with a fruit you enjoy at breakfast, a lunch containing vegetables and pulses, and a different vegetable at dinner. These are meal ideas, not a weighed plan verified to reach 25 g. Use data for the quantities actually eaten if you want to calculate a daily total.
Shop for meals you will use
If chickpeas are planned for lunch, think of a second meal for the remainder. Choose roasting vegetables you would enjoy with fish or a plant-based dish the next day. A shopping list connected to real meals gives new ingredients a place in the week instead of leaving them forgotten in the fridge.
A green package is not a fibre figure
A few decorative leaves do not establish the fibre content of a meal. Likewise, the word grains does not identify a whole-grain ingredient or its quantity. Check ingredients and portions while also considering taste, convenience and the rest of the meal.
Explore a chickpea lunch
Eat Better's indicative menu includes roasted chickpeas with quinoa. Read the ingredient guides and choose a preferred receiving date. For a fibre target, request confirmed recipe and portion information; the dish name alone cannot establish a full day's fibre intake.
